MY VISION
To position the society on the pedestal of greatness, sustainable growth and strong commitment to members’ welfare, desires and aspirations.

MY MISSION
To create a society where the collective and common wealth of all are channeled and harnessed towards wealth creation, total accountability, adequate communication, effective and efficient information dissemination for an all round benefit of every stakeholder.

1. Members’ Welfare
Key areas of interest whereby the welfare of our members can be harnessed are;
i. Loan Administration – Loan application, processing, approval and disbursement will take not more that 30days from the day the application was received.
ii. Loan Repayment – The minimum repayment period for loan will be 12 months and maximum of 24 months.
iii. Loan Type – There are 3 types of loan for which a members can take advantage of;
a. Normal Loan – This is the payment of twice the contribution of members as stated in the society’s bye-law for a maximum of 24 months at 10% flat rate.
b. Special Loan – This is a discretionary loan approved by the executive to members for investment and trading purposes. The interest rate is negotiable. This loan is equally for non members with viable projects needing financing for which the society can partner.
c. Compassionate Loan – This is a soft, low interest rate, short term loan exclusively to members to meet up with immediate pressing needs. I call it “mini credit card”.
iv. Coop Store – the two coop stores in Head Office & Apapa Terminal will be restructured and upgraded to make it more viable, members’ oriented and one-stop-shop for all your daily needs, gift items and commodity centre. The operations will be automated and computerized. More stores will be added in other locations as soon as space is made available.
v. Commodity Purchase – Opportunities will be given to members to take advantage of our commodity purchase scheme to own any commodity of their choice ranging from household appliances e.g. TV, LCD, Home Theatre, Fridge & Freezer, and Mobile Phones etc and even when the need to change your wardrobe arises. Arrangement will be made to source this items from the direct importers/franchise holder like LG, Samsung, Sony, Philips etc
vi. Short term Investment – Stock Market is a striving market with good returns on investment. It will be a wonderful idea to tap into this high yielding business opportunity. Members will have access to fund, in collaborations with our bankers and stock brokers, to trade in the stock market.

2. Wealth Creation
A good society is not such that manages its resources very well, but that which in addition create wealth and add value to the collective benefit of all the stakeholders. The need to make our resources work for us in other to improve the returns and fortune of our members and society will give us the necessary impetus and push to creatively launch into business ventures either solely or in joint venture with other interested parties so as to create other sources of fund generation into the society.

However, the guiding principle of this objective will be prudence, good business plan formulation and strong determination to succeed. Let me emphasize here that creative ideas from any members will be welcome and adequately explored.

Areas of interest will include Real Estate, Stock Market, and Trading. Let me assure you all that we will carry everybody along in whatever business venture we may want to do.

3. Accountability & Effective Communication.
A leader is someone who is responsible to hold something or position in-trust for someone or group of people. It is imperative therefore for him to give adequate and faithful account of his stewardship. It is also very important for him to lead with the followers having a pretty good knowledge of activities going on within the organization or society. The need for a proper feedback mechanism can therefore not be over-emphasized. As this will not only help the followers to follow very well with the total confidence that they are not being led astral, but the leader himself will be assured that he has the support and backing of his people and thereby do as it pleases them.

Accountability – The use of computer in modern day business operation has propelled so many businesses to a record high in terms of turnover, information management, decision making and good accountability. I intend to make operational, the use of accounting software package as initiated by the incumbent executive that will streamline all our business activities from the point of inception to its final conclusion.

Effective Communication – Access to information is not enough unless such information comes at the right time. The world is turning into a global village as they use to say through the powerful tool called internet. Therefore, as a society, we must not be left behind in the most viable and quickest means of information dissemination.

For this reason, I intend to host a website that will be called “www.totalstaffcoop.com” where every member irrespective of location or distance can have on-line real-time information about the society. In fact simple task like applying for loan, requesting for commodity, request to increase contribution, individual loan & contribution status etc can easily be done and accessed. Response/progress on such request can even be monitored. All you will need is your employee number and a password. It is my belief that we will all embrace this information gateway when it is launched.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, I want to quote from one of America’s current and future leader, Barrack Obama. He said and I quote “I’m asking you to believe. Not just in my ability to bring about real change in our society, I’m asking you to believe in yours too” The key word is TOGETHER, we can build a society that we will all be proud of.
